The End Exclusion -- Let's Enable The MDGs project has entered a partnership with Matthieu Bron, the director of the award-winning feature-length documentary "Body and Soul." We are delighted about this collaboration as the film, like our project, sets out to raise awareness about the situation of persons with disabilities in developing countries, and show a positive image of disability and the individual’s strength to overcome their challenges.

Photo of Mariana on her bed. "Body and Soul" tells the inspiring stories of three young Mozambicans with disabilities. Victoria, Vasco and Mariana, face their disability with an impressive strength. Victoria organises a fashion show with disabled women to make them confident again in their femininity and charm. Mariana has an incredible social energy and breaks the prejudices and psychological barriers of an ever growing circle of friends. Vasco overcomes all the difficulties to go to work including the refusal of many bus drivers to take wheelchairs. Every day, they disarm the people’s prejudices with their extraordinary personalities. More details on the documentary at http://bodyandsoulmozambique.com/ 

The film will be screened during the Millennium Documentary Film Festival in Brussels this month. This festival "has been created to promote documentaries (...) that explore social, cultural, economic, humanitarian and environmental issues. It is dedicated to documentaries that reflect widely the objectives of the 8 Millennium Development Goals".

Regular screenings are as folllows:

-       Friday April 20, 7.15 PM, at Cinéma Vendôme (Ch. de Wavre 18, 1050 Brussels) followed by a 45 minutes Q&A with the director and a representative of the End Exclusion project.

-       Saturday April 21, 12 Noonat Cinéma Vendôme.

-       Sunday April 22, 4 PM, at Cinéma Vendôme.

Unfortunately this venue is not wheelchair accessible. However, an additional accessible screening will take place Monday April 23, 5 PM at CIVA (rue de l'Ermitage 55, 1050 Brussels), followed by a 45 minutes Q&A with the director and a representative of the End Exclusion project.
